We received this message and photo from Duarte at The Old Garage:

Plymouth Explorer 1954

I am sending you a picture I believe is rather interesting. The photo was taken in 1954 when the brand new Plymouth Explorer/Ghia was delivered to the lady standing in front of the car, a gift from her husband. They were parents of my friend’s wife.

As this is a one-off car, it is the very same one, in the other photo, taken a few months ago at Amelia Island in the USA.

Small world...

All the best

And the same car at Amelia this year:

Plymouth Ghia

I noticed the license plate starts with the letters GI, isn't that a license plate from Porto ?

Na altura até á letra L as matrículas eram da DGV de Lisboa e a partir da letra N eram da DGV do Porto. No entanto na época em causa as matrículas regiam-se pela série que neste caso era 21 a que correspondia o ano de 1954/55.
